If any of this feels familiar, you're in the right place:
The same argument keeps happening, and it always ends the same way: someone shuts down, someone walks away, and nothing gets resolved. You feel more like roommates than partners. There's a distance between you that wasn't there before, and you're not sure when it started or how to close it.
Maybe something happened that broke the trust. Maybe nothing dramatic happened at all; things just slowly drifted. Either way, you miss feeling like a team. Wanting things to be better isn't a sign your relationship is failing. It's a sign you both still care enough to try.
Here's How Your Relationship Starts to Change
✔ Have hard conversations without it turning into a fight.
Your therapist teaches you both how to say what you actually mean, and how to hear each other without getting defensive.
✔ Feel close to each other again.
Distance builds slowly, but so does reconnection. We help you rebuild emotional and physical intimacy at a pace that feels safe for both of you.
✔ Rebuild trust after it's been broken.
Whether it's infidelity, dishonesty, or a slow erosion of reliability, trust can be repaired with the right support and both partners' commitment.
✔ Break the patterns that keep you stuck.
Every couple has their version of "the same fight." We'll help you see what's really driving the cycle, and give you new ways to respond.
✔ Navigate big life changes together.
Parenthood, career shifts, family stress, health challenges; couples therapy gives you tools to face these as a team instead of pulling apart.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
Couples therapy sessions are $175 per session (75–90 minutes), with an initial assessment at $250 (90 minutes). Important to know: insurance typically does not cover couples therapy. We follow best practices with extended session times because shorter sessions aren't enough time for meaningful couples work. We also offer the Gottman Seven Principles Workshop for $375 per couple for all sessions.
-
It helps when both partners are open to the process, but it's common for one person to be more ready than the other. If your partner is hesitant, scheduling a free consultation call together can take some of the pressure off; it's just a conversation, not a commitment. And sometimes, starting individual therapy can be a first step while your partner warms up to the idea.
-
Yes. Everything shared in therapy is confidential and protected by HIPAA. Your therapist won't take sides or share information from individual conversations without both partners' agreement. The therapy room is a neutral space, which is what makes it safe.

Most couples who come to therapy feel that way. The arguments have gone on so long, or the hurt runs so deep, that it seems impossible. But research on couples therapy, especially the Gottman Method and EFT, shows that most couples who engage in therapy see real improvement. Your therapist has worked with couples facing similar challenges and can help you find a way forward.

Absolutely. Alba Wellness Group is explicitly LGBTQ+ affirming, not just tolerant. Our therapists understand the unique dynamics that LGBTQ+ couples navigate, including coming out, family acceptance, discrimination stress, and identity within relationships. You won't have to educate your therapist or explain your relationship. You'll just be treated as a couple.
