ALBA WELLNESS GROUP
Therapists Who Accept Gold Coast Health Plan
Compassionate, Community-Centered Therapy at No Cost Through Your Medi-Cal Coverage
What We Do
Finding a therapist you trust shouldn't be harder than the challenges that brought you to therapy in the first place. Yet for Gold Coast Health Plan members, the search can feel overwhelming: long wait lists, limited provider directories, and uncertainty about what your Medi-Cal coverage actually includes.
You deserve care that is not only affordable but also genuinely supportive, culturally responsive, and tailored to what you and your family are going through right now.
Alba Wellness Group was founded on a simple but powerful belief: healing happens in community, and everyone deserves a space where they belong. We accept Gold Coast Health Plan so that cost never stands between you and the support you need. Whether you're an adult navigating anxiety and depression, a parent seeking help for a child struggling at school, or a teen trying to make sense of an identity that feels complicated, our licensed clinicians meet you where you are, with warmth, clinical expertise, and zero judgment.
Because we serve communities across the San Fernando Valley and Antelope Valley, we understand the real-life pressures our clients face, from long commutes and demanding work schedules to the unique stressors of raising a family in Southern California. Our goal is to remove every barrier we can, starting with insurance confusion, so you can focus entirely on healing and growth.
Alba Wellness Group was founded by Patricia Alba, LCSW, a licensed clinical social worker with over twenty years of experience in trauma and mood disorder treatment. With offices in Panorama City and Lancaster, California, the practice provides culturally responsive therapy for adults, children, teens, and couples, specializing in anxiety, depression, LGBTQ+ affirming care, EMDR, and Ketamine-Assisted Therapy.
How We Do It
Alba Wellness Group provides individual therapy, teen therapy, and child therapy for ages five and older, with specialized expertise in anxiety, depression, trauma and EMDR, and grief and loss counseling.
Each of these services is available to Gold Coast Health Plan members, meaning your sessions are covered through your Medi-Cal benefits at little to no out-of-pocket cost. Our clinicians are trained in evidence-based modalities, including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), EMDR, and psychodynamic therapy, so you receive treatment grounded in science and shaped by compassion.
When you reach out to our team, we begin by verifying your Gold Coast Health Plan coverage and answering any questions you have about your benefits. From there, we match you with a therapist whose specialties align with your needs and whose approach feels like the right fit. Your first session is a collaborative conversation: your therapist listens to your story, helps you identify what you'd like to work on, and begins building a treatment plan designed around your goals, not a one-size-fits-all checklist.
Over the course of treatment, you can expect to develop concrete coping strategies, deepen your understanding of the patterns and experiences that shape your emotions, and build resilience that extends well beyond the therapy room. For children and teens, our clinicians use age-appropriate, developmentally informed techniques that help young people express what words alone can't capture, building confidence, emotional regulation, and stronger family connections.
What sets Alba Wellness Group apart is our commitment to community. Founded by Patricia Alba, LCSW, with more than twenty years of clinical experience in trauma and mood disorders, our practice is built on the conviction that every person, regardless of income, background, or insurance type, has the intrinsic strength to heal and thrive.

Benefits of Therapy at Alba Wellness Group
KEY BENEFITS
-
Navigating insurance is stressful enough without worrying whether your therapist actually accepts your plan. At Alba Wellness Group, we handle the verification process for you. When you call or submit an inquiry, our team confirms your Gold Coast Health Plan eligibility and explains exactly what your Medi-Cal behavioral health benefits cover, before you ever sit down for a session. That means no surprise copays, no confusing explanation-of-benefits letters, and no financial anxiety layered on top of the emotional challenges you're already working through.
Gold Coast Health Plan was designed to ensure that Ventura County Medi-Cal members have access to quality healthcare, including mental health services. By partnering with plans like Gold Coast, Alba Wellness Group makes it possible for individuals and families to receive consistent, ongoing therapy without the cost barriers that force so many people to delay or abandon care. Research consistently shows that continuity in therapy, seeing the same clinician over time, produces better outcomes for anxiety, depression, trauma recovery, and family functioning.
When cost isn't a barrier, you're far more likely to stay the course and experience lasting change. Our administrative team stays current on Gold Coast Health Plan policies and billing requirements so that the behind-the-scenes work never disrupts your clinical experience. You focus on healing; we handle the paperwork.

Mental health challenges rarely affect just one person in a family. A child's anxiety shows up at the dinner table. A teen's depression shifts the energy of the entire household. A parent's unresolved grief quietly shapes how they connect with their kids. Alba Wellness Group offers therapy across the lifespan, for children as young as five, for adolescents navigating the turbulence of middle and high school, and for adults working through their own histories, so that every member of your family can access care in a practice that already understands your story.
Our child therapists use play-based and expressive techniques that meet young clients at their developmental level, creating a safe space where kids can process difficult emotions without being asked to articulate feelings they don't yet have words for. For teens, our clinicians understand the unique pressures of growing up in today's world, social media, academic stress, identity exploration, peer conflict, and provide a confidential space where adolescents feel heard rather than lectured.
Adult clients benefit from a full range of evidence-based modalities, from EMDR for trauma processing to DBT for emotional regulation, all delivered within a framework of respect and cultural sensitivity. Having a single practice that serves the whole family reduces logistical friction and ensures clinicians can coordinate care when appropriate, leading to stronger outcomes for everyone involved.
-
Trauma doesn't always announce itself. It can show up as insomnia, irritability, difficulty trusting others, or a persistent sense that something is "off" even when life looks fine on the surface. Alba Wellness Group was founded by Patricia Alba, LCSW, whose career has been defined by a deep commitment to trauma recovery. With more than two decades of experience treating trauma and mood disorders across all age groups, from toddlers to elders, Patricia has built a clinical team that shares her belief: sometimes we must look backward to move forward.
Our therapists are trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), a gold-standard treatment for post-traumatic stress that helps the brain reprocess disturbing memories so they no longer hijack your emotions and behavior. We also draw on Internal Family Systems, psychodynamic therapy, and DBT to create individualized treatment plans that address not just symptoms but root causes. This multi-modal approach means your therapist can adapt as your needs evolve, rather than forcing you into a single framework.
For Gold Coast Health Plan members, accessing this caliber of trauma-informed care at no cost is a meaningful advantage. Specialized trauma therapy can be difficult to find in many communities, and when it is available, it often comes with long waitlists or high private-pay fees. Alba Wellness Group is committed to making this care accessible to everyone, because healing from trauma should never be a luxury.
-
Too many therapy experiences feel transactional, you show up, talk for fifty minutes, and leave feeling like a case number. Alba Wellness Group was founded on a different philosophy: creating a world where everyone belongs. That mission shapes everything from the way our front desk greets you to the way our clinicians structure sessions. We believe that the therapeutic relationship itself is a vehicle for healing, and that feeling genuinely seen and valued by your therapist is not a bonus, it's the foundation of meaningful change.
This matters especially for Medi-Cal members, who too often encounter mental health systems that feel rushed, impersonal, or stigmatizing. At Alba, your insurance type doesn't determine the quality of your care. Every client, whether covered by Gold Coast Health Plan, private insurance, or another plan, receives the same level of attention, the same length of sessions, and the same access to our full clinical team. We are intentional about building a practice culture where no one feels "less than" because of how their care is funded.
Our commitment to belonging also extends to cultural responsiveness. We serve diverse communities across Southern California, and our clinicians bring sensitivity to the cultural, linguistic, and socioeconomic realities that shape our clients' lives. When you walk into Alba Wellness Group, you're not just accessing therapy; you're joining a community that believes in your capacity to heal.
-
Access to therapy means nothing if you can't realistically get to your appointments. Alba Wellness Group operates two offices, one in Panorama City in the heart of the San Fernando Valley, and one in Lancaster serving the Antelope Valley, to meet clients where they live and work. Both locations are easily accessible by car and public transit, with appointment availability designed to accommodate the schedules of working adults, school-age children, and busy families.
For Gold Coast Health Plan members, geography can be one of the biggest obstacles to care. Ventura County residents may find that provider options within their immediate area are limited, and long drives to appointments become unsustainable over time. Alba's locations are positioned to serve communities across a broad swath of Southern California, and our team is happy to discuss whether our offices are accessible from your area or whether telehealth may be an option for your plan.
We also understand that life in the Antelope Valley and San Fernando Valley comes with its own set of stressors, extreme heat, long commutes into the city, economic pressures, and in many neighborhoods, a shortage of behavioral health providers. Having a trusted therapy practice embedded in your community means shorter travel times, more consistent attendance, and ultimately, better clinical outcomes.
-
You don't need a diagnosis to deserve support, and you don't need to be in crisis to benefit from therapy. Alba Wellness Group provides treatment for a wide range of concerns, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, trauma, mood disorders, identity exploration, and relational difficulties, because emotional pain doesn't fit neatly into categories, and neither should your care. Our clinicians are trained to recognize how different challenges intersect.
Grief can trigger depression. Anxiety can mask unresolved trauma. A child's behavioral issues at school may be an expression of family stress that no one has named yet. By treating the whole person rather than a single symptom, we help clients build insight and develop skills that serve them across every area of life. For Gold Coast Health Plan members, knowing that your plan covers treatment for this full spectrum of concerns can be a relief.
You won't need to seek out a different specialist every time a new issue surfaces; your therapist at Alba already knows your history, your strengths, and your goals, and can adapt your treatment plan as your needs evolve. This continuity is one of the most powerful predictors of positive outcomes in therapy, and it's something we prioritize for every client we serve. Whether you're grieving a loss, struggling with persistent worry, feeling disconnected from the people you love, or simply sensing that something needs to change, Alba Wellness Group is here to help you take the next step.
Our Services
Anxiety Therapy
Persistent worry, racing thoughts, and physical tension don't have to run your life. Our therapists use evidence-based techniques, including DBT and cognitive-behavioral strategies, to help you identify anxiety triggers, develop grounding skills, and rebuild a sense of calm and control. Whether your anxiety is situational or long-standing, we tailor treatment to your unique experience and goals. Available for adults, teens, and children covered by Gold Coast Health Plan.
Depression Treatment
Depression can feel like a weight that makes even small tasks overwhelming. At Alba Wellness Group, our clinicians address both the symptoms and underlying causes of depression through psychodynamic exploration, behavioral activation, and supportive counseling. We help you reconnect with motivation, meaning, and the relationships that matter most, at a pace that respects where you are right now.
Child Therapy (Ages 5–12)
Children express emotional pain through behavior, play, and body language long before they can put feelings into words. Our child therapists use developmentally appropriate, play-based methods to help kids process anxiety, grief, family changes, and trauma in a safe, nurturing environment. Parents are active partners in the process, receiving guidance on how to support their child's growth at home.
EMDR and Trauma Therapy
Trauma reshapes the brain's response to stress, but recovery is possible. EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a research-backed therapy that helps your brain reprocess traumatic memories so they lose their emotional charge. Combined with our team's expertise in IFS and psychodynamic approaches, EMDR allows clients to move beyond survival mode and into genuine healing.
Teen Therapy
Adolescence brings identity questions, academic pressure, peer conflict, and emotional intensity that can overwhelm even the most resilient teens. Our teen therapists create a confidential, nonjudgmental space where young people can explore what they're feeling, build coping strategies, and develop the self-awareness they need to navigate this pivotal stage of life.
Our Process
Step 1
Reach Out and Ask Your Questions
Contact Alba Wellness Group by calling (818) 741-2906 or sending a message through our website. Let us know you're a Gold Coast Health Plan member and tell us a little about what you're looking for, whether it's therapy for yourself, your child, or your teen. There's no commitment at this stage. Our team is here to answer your questions about services, availability, and what to expect. Most inquiries receive a response within one to two business days.
Step 2
Verify Your Gold Coast Health Plan Coverage
Before scheduling your first session, our administrative team will verify your Gold Coast Health Plan benefits and confirm that your Medi-Cal coverage applies to the services you need. We'll explain any details about your plan so there are no surprises, including session limits, referral requirements, or prior authorization steps. This process typically takes one to three business days, depending on your plan's response time.
Step 3
Get Matched with the Right Therapist
Based on your needs, preferences, and clinical goals, we'll match you with a licensed therapist whose specialties and approach are the best fit. Whether you need EMDR for trauma, a child therapist experienced with play-based interventions, or a clinician who understands the complexities of adolescent identity, we make the match intentionally, because the therapeutic relationship is the single most important factor in successful outcomes.
Step 4
Attend Your First Session and Build Your Plan
Your initial appointment is a collaborative conversation. Your therapist will listen to your story, explore what's bringing you to therapy, and begin developing a personalized treatment plan built around your goals. There's no pressure to share more than you're ready to. This session sets the foundation for the work ahead and gives you a chance to experience what therapy at Alba feels like: warm, respectful, and entirely focused on you.
Step 5
Continue Your Healing Journey
Therapy is most effective when it's consistent. Together with your therapist, you'll establish a session frequency that supports your progress and fits your schedule. Over time, you'll develop new coping strategies, deepen your self-understanding, and build the resilience to navigate life's challenges with greater confidence. Your therapist will regularly check in on your goals and adjust the plan as you grow.
Our Approach
At the heart of Alba Wellness Group's clinical philosophy is a belief that Patricia Alba, LCSW, has carried through more than twenty years of practice: every person possesses the intrinsic strength to heal.
Our role as therapists is not to fix you; it's to walk alongside you as you reconnect with a resilience that may have been buried under trauma, grief, anxiety, or the weight of daily survival. This conviction shapes every interaction at our practice, from the first phone call to the final session and every moment in between.
Our clinical approach is integrative, meaning we draw from multiple evidence-based modalities rather than adhering rigidly to a single framework. Depending on your needs and goals, your therapist may incorporate EMDR to reprocess traumatic memories, DBT to strengthen emotional regulation, Internal Family Systems to explore the different parts of your inner experience, or psychodynamic therapy to uncover the deeper patterns that drive your emotions and relationships. This flexibility allows us to meet you exactly where you are, and to adapt as you evolve.
We also recognize that therapy doesn't happen in a vacuum. The communities we serve, from the San Fernando Valley to the Antelope Valley, are vibrant, diverse, and often under-resourced when it comes to behavioral health. Many of our clients are balancing demanding work schedules, caregiving responsibilities, and financial pressures that make self-care feel like an impossible luxury. By accepting Gold Coast Health Plan and other Medi-Cal plans, we remove one of the most significant barriers to care so that therapy becomes a realistic, sustainable part of your life rather than an aspiration you can't afford.
Ultimately, our approach is grounded in relationship. We believe that the connection between therapist and client is itself a healing force, a space where you can be fully seen, safely challenged, and gently encouraged to move toward the life you want. That's what it means to create a world where everyone belongs.
