What We Do

Being court-ordered to complete an anger management program can feel stressful and overwhelming. You may be dealing with uncertainty about what to expect, how long it will take, or whether the program will actually satisfy your court's requirements.

On top of that, many people feel judged before they even walk through the door. At Alba Wellness Group, we understand the pressure you're under, and we're here to make this process as clear, straightforward, and genuinely helpful as possible.

Our court-ordered anger management program is designed to meet the specific requirements set by courts across Los Angeles County, including the San Fernando Valley and Antelope Valley. We provide a structured, skills-based psychoeducational curriculum led by licensed professionals who treat every participant with respect and dignity. You'll receive a certificate of completion that documents your compliance, and our staff can coordinate directly with your attorney or probation officer if needed.

With two convenient locations in Panorama City and Lancaster, we've made it easy for residents across the region to access quality programming close to home. Whether you're commuting from Pacoima, Palmdale, or anywhere in between, you'll find a program that fits your schedule and fulfills your legal obligation, while also giving you practical tools you can use long after the program ends.

Alba Wellness Group was founded by Patricia Alba, LCSW, a licensed clinical social worker with over twenty years of experience in trauma and mood disorder treatment. With offices in Panorama City and Lancaster, California, the practice provides culturally responsive therapy for adults, children, teens, and couples, specializing in anxiety, depression, LGBTQ+ affirming care, EMDR, and Ketamine-Assisted Therapy.

How We Do It

Our court-ordered anger management program is a structured psychoeducational group designed to satisfy court-mandated requirements while providing real, applicable skills for managing anger in daily life.

The program addresses the cognitive, emotional, and behavioral patterns that contribute to anger-related issues, using evidence-based techniques drawn from cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, and interpersonal skills training.

The program is offered in group format, which courts commonly require. Group sessions run on a set weekly schedule at both our Panorama City and Lancaster offices. Program length varies based on your court order, we offer 8-week, 12-week, 16-week, and 26-week (52-session) programs to match the most common judicial requirements across Los Angeles County courts. Each session lasts approximately 90 minutes and covers specific topics including identifying anger triggers, understanding the anger cycle, developing healthy communication strategies, practicing de-escalation techniques, and building conflict resolution skills.

Upon successful completion of the program, you will receive an official certificate of completion that documents your attendance, the number of hours completed, and the dates of participation. This certificate is formatted to meet the documentation standards required by courts, probation departments, and attorneys throughout California. We also provide progress letters and attendance verification upon request at no additional charge.

Our program is facilitated by licensed and supervised mental health professionals who specialize in anger management and behavioral health. Unlike generic online courses, our in-person groups offer the accountability, real-time feedback, and interpersonal practice that courts prefer and that actually lead to meaningful change. We keep group sizes manageable, so every participant has the opportunity to engage, ask questions, and practice new skills in a supportive environment.

Benefits of Therapy at Alba Wellness Group

KEY BENEFITS

  • One of the most important concerns when you've been court-ordered to attend anger management is knowing that the program you choose will actually satisfy your requirement. At Alba Wellness Group, our program is specifically structured to comply with the standards courts throughout Los Angeles County expect. We've worked with participants referred by courts in the San Fernando Valley, Antelope Valley, Van Nuys Courthouse, Lancaster Courthouse, and beyond, and we understand exactly what documentation is needed.

Upon completing your required number of sessions, you receive an official certificate of completion that includes your full name, program dates, total hours completed, and the facilitator's credentials and signature. This certificate is accepted by courts, probation officers, and attorneys as proof of compliance. If your court or attorney requires interim progress reports, attendance logs, or verification letters at any point during the program, we provide those promptly and at no extra cost. We know that your compliance timeline matters, and we take the documentation process seriously so you don't have to worry about whether your paperwork will hold up.

Our administrative team is also available to speak directly with your probation officer or legal representative to confirm enrollment, attendance, or completion status. This level of support ensures there are no gaps in communication between our office and the court, giving you peace of mind that your requirement is being fulfilled properly every step of the way.

  • Balancing a court requirement with work, family, and daily responsibilities isn't easy. That's why we offer our anger management groups at two locations, Panorama City in the San Fernando Valley and Lancaster in the Antelope Valley, with multiple session times to accommodate a range of schedules. Whether you work daytime hours, have evening commitments, or need weekend availability, we work to find a session time that makes consistent attendance realistic for you.

Our Panorama City office at 14500 Roscoe Blvd., Suite 400, is centrally located and accessible from surrounding communities, including Van Nuys, North Hollywood, Sun Valley, Sylmar, Pacoima, Mission Hills, and Arleta. Our Lancaster office at 1601 West Avenue J is convenient for residents of Palmdale, Quartz Hill, Rosamond, and the greater Antelope Valley. Both locations are in professional office settings that are easy to find with ample parking available.

We understand that missed sessions can delay your completion date and potentially create problems with the court. That's why we offer makeup session options and maintain open communication about scheduling conflicts. If your situation changes mid-program, whether it's a job change, transportation issue, or family obligation, talk to us. We'll work with you to find a solution that keeps you on track without unnecessary stress. Our goal is to remove barriers to completion, not create them.

  • Walking into an anger management program can feel intimidating, especially when it wasn't your choice. Many people arrive expecting to be lectured, shamed, or treated like a problem that needs to be fixed. That's not how we operate. At Alba Wellness Group, our foundational belief is that you're not broken, and that includes every person who comes through our doors for a court-ordered program.

Our facilitators are trained mental health professionals who understand that anger is a normal human emotion. The issue isn't that you feel anger; it's about what happens when anger takes control. Our groups are structured to be psychoeducational and skills-based, which means the focus is on learning and practicing, not on judgment or shame. You won't be asked to share anything you're not comfortable sharing. You won't be singled out. You will be treated as an adult who is taking a responsible step by completing this requirement.

Many participants tell us they were surprised by how much they actually got out of the program. The skills covered, like recognizing triggers before they escalate, communicating assertively without aggression, and managing stress in high-pressure moments, are tools that apply to every area of life, from the workplace to personal relationships to parenting. We've seen people arrive reluctantly and leave with a genuine sense of accomplishment and self-awareness. That's not a coincidence; it's the result of creating a space where people feel safe enough to actually engage with the material and with each other.

  • Our anger management program isn't a checkbox exercise; it's a structured curriculum rooted in evidence-based therapeutic approaches that have been shown to create lasting behavioral change. Drawing on cognitive-behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, and interpersonal effectiveness training, each session is designed to build on the last, creating a progressive skill set that participants can apply immediately in their daily lives.

Topics covered throughout the program include understanding the anger cycle and its physiological components, identifying personal triggers and early warning signs, cognitive restructuring to challenge distorted thinking patterns, assertive communication techniques, active listening and empathy development, stress management and relaxation strategies, conflict resolution in relationships and workplace settings, and relapse prevention planning. These aren't abstract concepts; each session includes practical exercises, real-world scenarios, and group discussion that make the material relevant and usable.

For participants in the San Fernando Valley and Antelope Valley communities, where daily life often involves navigating traffic, job pressures, financial stress, and family dynamics, these skills directly address the kinds of situations that most commonly lead to anger-related problems. By the end of the program, participants consistently report feeling more in control, more confident in difficult conversations, and better equipped to handle stress without reactive behavior. The court may have required you to be here, but the skills you take away are yours to keep.

  • Not every court order is the same, and we understand that the number of sessions you're required to complete depends on your specific case. Alba Wellness Group offers anger management programs in multiple lengths, 8 weeks, 12 weeks, 16 weeks, and 26 weeks, to align precisely with what the court has mandated. If your order specifies a particular number of hours or sessions, we'll confirm that our program meets or exceeds that requirement before you begin.

During your initial enrollment call or intake appointment, we'll review your court documentation together to make sure we understand exactly what's required. If there's any ambiguity in the language of your order, we can help you clarify the requirement with your attorney or probation officer. This step is critical; enrolling in a program that doesn't match your court's specifications can result in delays, additional costs, or even non-compliance issues. We take this seriously and ensure you're placed in the correct program from day one.

We also offer rolling enrollment, so you don't have to wait for a new cycle to start. In most cases, you can begin attending sessions within one to two weeks of your enrollment call, helping you meet court deadlines without unnecessary waiting periods. Whether your court date is weeks away or months out, starting early gives you the best chance of completing comfortably and on time. Our team at both the Panorama City and Lancaster offices will help you build a timeline that works.

  • The quality of your anger management program matters, both for meeting your court requirement and for getting something meaningful out of the experience. At Alba Wellness Group, all anger management groups are facilitated by licensed or supervised mental health professionals with specific training and experience in anger management, behavioral health, and group facilitation. This isn't a peer-led support group or an online video course, it's a clinically informed, professionally led program.

Our clinical team, led by founder Patricia Alba, LCSW, brings over two decades of experience in treating behavioral and mood-related challenges. Our facilitators are trained in trauma-informed care, cultural responsiveness, and evidence-based group therapy practices. This means that regardless of your background, identity, or the circumstances that brought you here, you'll be working with professionals who understand the complexity of anger and the many factors that contribute to it, including stress, trauma history, systemic pressures, and relationship dynamics.

Courts and probation departments recognize the difference between a professionally facilitated program and a generic course. A certificate from a licensed provider carries weight and credibility. More importantly, working with skilled clinicians means you're getting accurate psychoeducation, appropriate support if deeper issues arise during the program, and referrals for additional services, such as individual therapy or couples counseling, if needed. At Alba Wellness Group, we're invested in your success, not just your attendance.

Our Approach

At Alba Wellness Group, our approach to court-ordered anger management is grounded in a simple but powerful belief: every person who walks through our doors deserves to be treated with dignity, regardless of the circumstances that brought them here.

We don't see court-mandated participants as problems to manage; we see people navigating a difficult moment who deserve genuine support and practical tools. This philosophy shapes everything about our program, from the way our facilitators lead sessions to the way our front desk staff answers the phone.

Our curriculum is rooted in evidence-based practices, including cognitive behavioral therapy and dialectical behavior therapy, adapted specifically for psychoeducational group settings. Rather than relying on lectures or passive learning, we emphasize interactive skill-building, real conversations, practical exercises, and scenarios drawn from the kinds of situations our participants actually face. Whether it's a conflict at work, a tense family situation, or the everyday frustrations of commuting through the San Fernando Valley or navigating life in the Antelope Valley, the skills we teach are designed to be used in real life, not just understood in theory.

We also recognize that anger rarely exists in isolation. Many of our participants are also dealing with stress, anxiety, past trauma, financial pressure, or relationship difficulties. Our clinicians are trained to hold space for that complexity without overstepping the boundaries of a psychoeducational group. When deeper therapeutic needs arise, we offer a clear pathway into individual therapy, couples counseling, or other services within our practice, creating continuity of care that most standalone anger management programs simply can't provide.

Culturally responsive care is central to our work. The communities we serve in Panorama City, Lancaster, and the surrounding areas are richly diverse, and our program reflects that. Our facilitators bring cultural awareness, bilingual capacity, and lived understanding of the systemic factors that can contribute to anger and stress. We honor every participant's background, identity, and experience because effective anger management starts with feeling seen and respected.
