ALBA WELLNESS GROUP

Culturally Affirming Therapy for the Latino Community

Honor Your Roots, Heal on Your Terms, A Space Where Your Story and Culture Are Respected

What We Do

Growing up in a Latino household, you learned that familia comes first. You learned to be strong, to push through, and to handle things privately.

Seeking help from a therapist might feel like admitting weakness, or worse, like betraying your family by sharing what happens at home with a stranger. Maybe someone told you that prayer alone should be enough, or that therapy is for people who are "really crazy." These messages run deep, and they can keep you suffering in silence even when life feels overwhelming.

Alba Wellness Group was founded by Patricia Alba, LCSW, a Latina clinician who understands these pressures firsthand. This practice was built on the belief that seeking therapy is not a sign of weakness, it is one of the bravest things you can do for yourself and for the people you love. At Alba Wellness Group, your cultural identity is not something to work around; it is central to how we work with you. We honor the values of familia, faith, respeto, and community while creating a confidential space where you can process the things you have been carrying alone.

With offices in Panorama City, in the heart of the San Fernando Valley's Latino community, and in Lancaster serving the Antelope Valley, Alba Wellness Group brings culturally affirming care directly to the neighborhoods that need it most. Whether you are a first-generation immigrant navigating a new world, a second-generation adult caught between two cultures, or a family trying to bridge generational divides, you deserve a therapist who gets it without you having to explain it.

Alba Wellness Group was founded by Patricia Alba, LCSW, a licensed clinical social worker with over twenty years of experience in trauma and mood disorder treatment. With offices in Panorama City and Lancaster, California, the practice provides culturally responsive therapy for adults, children, teens, and couples, specializing in anxiety, depression, LGBTQ+ affirming care, EMDR, and Ketamine-Assisted Therapy.

How We Do It

Alba Wellness Group provides a full range of therapeutic services for adults, children, teens, and couples.

Our clinical team draws from evidence-based approaches including EMDR for trauma processing, DBT for emotional regulation, IFS (Internal Family Systems), and psychodynamic treatment to help you understand the roots of what you are experiencing today. These are not one-size-fits-all methods. They are adapted to respect your worldview, your family dynamics, and your lived experience as a member of the Latino community.

For adults, therapy may focus on anxiety or depression that has been dismissed as nervios, unprocessed grief from losing a loved one or a way of life, or the invisible weight of being the one everyone else depends on. For teens, sessions create a space to explore identity, including what it means to grow up between cultures, without judgment from parents, peers, or anyone else. For children, therapy uses age-appropriate, play-based methods to help young ones express feelings they do not yet have words for, especially during family transitions or stressful changes. For couples, therapy addresses communication breakdowns, trust repair, and the cultural expectations that shape how partners relate to each other.

The process begins with a conversation. You reach out to our team, share a little about what brought you here, and schedule your first session at either our Panorama City or Lancaster office. From there, your therapist will take time to understand your history, your goals, and what matters to you. There is no rush, no pressure, and no judgment. Every session builds on the last, creating a path toward relief, clarity, and the kind of inner peace that lets you show up differently for yourself and for the people who matter most. Patricia Alba brings more than twenty years of clinical experience to this work, and her vision guides every therapist on the team: that every person and every family have the intrinsic strength to heal and thrive.

Our Process

Step 1

Reach Out and Connect With Our Team

Your journey begins with a simple step: contacting Alba Wellness Group by phone at (818) 741-2906 or by email at info@albawellnessgroup.com. Let us know a little about what brought you here and what you are looking for. There is no pressure to have everything figured out. Our team will listen, answer your questions, and help you determine which service and therapist may be the best fit for your needs. If you have never been to therapy before, this is a completely normal first step, and we will walk you through what to expect. This initial conversation typically takes just a few minutes.

Step 2

Schedule Your First Appointment

Once you feel ready, we will schedule your first session at whichever location is most convenient: Panorama City in the San Fernando Valley or Lancaster in the Antelope Valley. We will work with your schedule to find a time that fits your life. Before your first appointment, you may be asked to complete some brief intake paperwork so your therapist can begin to understand your background and goals. This is standard and confidential. Think of it as giving your therapist a head start so your first session can focus on you, not on forms.

Step 3

Begin Your First Session

Your first therapy session is about building trust and getting to know each other. Your therapist will take time to understand your story, your concerns, and what you hope to get out of therapy. There is no right or wrong way to start. Some people come in with a clear issue. Others simply know that something feels off. Your therapist will meet you wherever you are without judgment. This session also gives you the chance to see if the fit feels right, because the therapeutic relationship matters as much as the method.

Step 4

Build Your Path Forward Together

After your initial session, you and your therapist will begin to shape a plan that fits your goals, your pace, and your life. Sessions build on each other over time, creating momentum toward real change. Whether you are working through trauma with EMDR, building emotional tools with DBT, or exploring family dynamics, each session moves you closer to the relief, clarity, and peace you are looking for. The frequency of sessions is flexible and will be discussed together based on what serves you best.

Our Approach

At the heart of Alba Wellness Group is a simple but powerful belief: healing happens when you feel like you belong.

Founded by Patricia Alba, LCSW, this practice was created specifically to serve individuals, families, and communities who have been historically underserved or misunderstood by traditional mental health systems. For the Latino community in Los Angeles, that means a practice where your culture is not a footnote in your treatment plan; it is the context in which everything is understood.

Our clinical approach integrates multiple evidence-based modalities, EMDR, DBT, IFS, and psychodynamic therapy, because no single method works for every person. Patricia Alba brings more than twenty years of experience treating trauma and mood disorders, and her training spans the full lifespan, from young children to elders. This depth of experience allows our team to match therapeutic tools to each client's unique situation rather than forcing everyone into the same framework. When your therapist understands that your anxiety might be connected to generational patterns, immigration-related stress, or the pressure of being the family's emotional anchor, the therapy becomes more precise, more relevant, and more effective.

What makes our approach different is the intentionality behind it. Every decision, from locating our offices in Panorama City and Lancaster to building a team that reflects the communities we serve, was made to reduce the barriers that keep people from getting help. We know that for many Latino families, walking into a therapist's office is an act of courage that goes against years of cultural messaging. We honor that courage by creating a space that feels safe, familiar, and free of judgment. We do not ask you to leave your identity at the door.

We ask you to bring all of it: your strength, your pain, your faith, your doubts, your history, and your hope, and we work with the whole of who you are. This is therapy rooted in community. It is therapy that understands that healing one person can change the course of an entire family. And it is therapy that is right here, in your neighborhood, whenever you are ready.
