Raz Derakhshan, AMFT

Registered Associate Marriage & Family Therapist #149242

Raz is deeply committed to facilitating self-growth and helping people heal, guiding individuals through their challenges while honoring the bravery it takes to seek help.

She became a therapist due to her fascination with human behavior and the ways people navigate life’s complexities. Having witnessed the profound impact of therapy, both personally and through others, she was inspired to pursue a career that empowers individuals to explore their emotions and find healing. To her, therapy offers a path to hope. Raz holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of British Columbia and a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Touro University Worldwide. Her experience includes working with children, families, couples, and minority groups, addressing issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and emotional regulation. She finds inspiration in Carl Jung’s words: “I am not what happened to me, I am what I choose to become.” A devoted Gilmore Girls fan, she’s watched the series over ten times, drawn to its relatable struggles, familial pressures, and witty humor. One of her hidden talents is recreating restaurant dishes at home with remarkable accuracy. What makes therapy with Raz unique is her deep commitment to being fully present with her clients, allowing her to genuinely understand their experiences and meet them exactly where they are in their journey.
